David Garrett is a retired Chief Engineer of Delphi Corporation (General Motors) of 27 years. During that tenure he was the author many publications in polymer science, including a monograph of decorative plastics. During the most recent years, his work was in recycling of multiple thermoplastics in ways that were cost effective in their reuse in structural and decorative products. Prior to that, he was a Principal Research Scientist in the Research Laboratories at Ford Motor Company. While there, he co-authored three patents in polymer synthesis.

He is married with four grown and college educated children( one daughter and three sons). He also plays contract bridge, golf and listens to classical jazz.
