The ESL Institute runs by semesters. Each is semester is 15 weeks long. Students will take up to four semesters (60 weeks) to complete the four level program depending on where they score on the LTU placement exam.

LTU ESL Institute offers international students ESL classes in Grammar, Reading, Listening, Conversation, Writing, and Integrated Skills in Communication. Each course follows an integrated approach to language learning. This means that students will use all of their English skills in each course. For example, a student could be asked to write a short essay in a grammar class or give a short presentation in a reading class.
