Bachelor of Science in ChemistryConcentration in Biochemistry and Chemical Biology

LTU

By studying the chemical processes within living organisms, and influencing those processes through the application of chemical techniques, chemical biologists seek to understand life at the cellular and molecular level. Through this new and exciting approach, this field is having a profound impact on our world, revolutionizing healthcare, advancing agriculture, expanding the frontier of biotechnology, and formulating live-saving medicines.

acs-approved

ACS-approved programs offer a broad-based and rigorous chemistry education that gives students intellectual, experimental, and communication skills to become effective scientific professionals.

Our four-year program in this dynamic transdisciplinary subject provides students with a strong foundation for a career in scientific research, but also for professions within the fields of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and forensic science, for example. It is also an ideal preparation for entrance into a graduate program with a scientific or medical focus.

Why LTU?

  • Dedicated faculty with extensive research and industry experience who are ready to mentor students through professional networking and career placement assistance
  • Program is approved by the American Chemical Society, a professional organization that promotes excellence in chemistry education
  • Opportunities to join our many science-related student organizations, including our American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and American Chemical Society student chapters.
