Dr. Ragheb is an associate professor in the College of Architecture and Design. In the Architecture program, he taught Construction Systems, Structures, Sustainable Building Systems, Performance Simulation, Research Methods, and BIM for Bldg Systems classes. In the  Architectural Engineering program, he taught Integrated Design Studio 3.

Dr. Ragheb’s research focuses on building systems integration, energy efficiency, the integration of renewable energy technologies in design, environmental sustainability esp. reducing building environmental impact, often using quantitative methods, computer simulation, and Life Cycle Assessment LCA as methods. His research on environmental profiling of buildings using LCA was funded by AIA prestigious UpJohn grant in 2009. He has published numerous peer-reviewed papers in national and international conferences and journals including ARCC, ASES, PLEA, Int’l J of LCA.

Dr. Ragheb received his bachelor's in Architectural Engineering from Ain Shams University in Cairo, his master's in Building Technology and his PhD in Architecture from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Ragheb has been a licensed architect and engineer in Egypt since 1991. He has practiced design of adaptive re-use and rehabilitation of historic buildings. He was the designer for numerous award-winning multi-use buildings in Egypt. He is a member of the American Solar Energy Society, Society of Building Science Educators, and Building Technology Educators’ Society.
