Ford Motor Company Fund and Lawrence Technological University are sponsoring “Designing for the Future” Competition. High school seniors or transfer students interested in receiving an award to Lawrence Tech’s Transportation Design or Industrial Design programs are encouraged to enter.
Over $100,000 in scholarships will be awarded
to students completing the admissions process and submitting a design proposal in either the automotive or product track.
Scholarships are only valid for students enrolling and starting program in Fall 2014 at LTU's Transportation Design or Industrial Design program. Scholarships cannot be transferred to another academic year, but contestants can make another submission the following year.
Graduates from Lawrence Tech’s program have 100% placement in industry with offers from: Ford, Chysler, GM, Nissan (London, UK), Peugeot (Paris, France), and VW (Wolfsburg, Germany). Become part of this exciting program and “make your mark” at the university and in industry by taking the first step by entering in this competition. Winners will be invited and announced at the MAIN Event in front of industry leading designers and executives from around the world attending the Detroit International Auto Show!
The Ford Cortina, built by Ford of Britain from 1962 to 1982, was the UK’s best-selling car of the 1970s, and still continues to have a large cult following. The Cortina also raced in rallies, and Lotus developed some sportier editions of the Cortina Mark I and Mark II which were marketed as the "Ford Cortina Lotus".
Considering the Cortina’s mass-market AND performace appeal, design a timeless, iconic vehicle or products for the year 2030.
