Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design

The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design prepares you to succeed in this exciting and competitive field and encourages the connection between intellectual inquiry and hands-on making.

The Graphic Design program offers a comprehensive curriculum that addresses the ever-changing field, ranging from traditional print media to the latest innovations in electronic multimedia and time-based mediums including user interface design, video and sound. You will develop technical and conceptual skills and explore the history and theory of graphic design. Critical thinking and creativity, important to the development of the person as well as the professional, are emphasized throughout the curriculum.

Our Liberal Arts core curriculum encourages a cultural awareness that informs artistic expression. Studies in literature, the sciences, philosophy, math, and history all contribute to the vision of the design professional.

The program culminates with a thesis project and public exhibition, where you will develop an investigative body of work that focuses on your individual interests within the field. Internship opportunities further prepare you with the knowledge, skillset, and experiences, for professional practice.
