You are a Special/Non-degree seeking student if:

  • You want to take some LTU courses for up to two semesters
  • You are not currently interested in pursuing a specific degree
  • You are not taking the courses for transfer to another institution. (What if you are interested in taking courses to transfer to another institution? Click here)

Is this you? Great! Follow these steps to apply for admission:

  1. Fill out an Application for Admission. If you want to take undergraduate courses, fill out the undergraduate application. If you want to take graduate courses, fill out the graduate application. Make sure to list the course(s) you would like to take in your application.
  2. Attach unofficial transcripts from all colleges and universities you have attended. If you are applying for undergraduate courses, also attach unofficial high school transcripts
  3. Submit this information to the Admissions Office.

Please note that Special student status can affect your financial aid awards. In most cases, students who are not in a degree program are not eligible for financial aid. Make sure to speak with a Financial Aid representative if you have concerns.
