Enrollment Deposit
All international students (except those from Canada) are required to submit a $500 enrollment deposit online through their Student Status Page at www.ltu.edu/statuspage at least 60 days prior to the start of the term to which they have been admitted. Confirmation of enrollment is part of the required documentation to issue an I-20. For Canadian students, the enrollment deposit is $100.

Register for Placement Assessments
Placement assessments are the first step in the registration process and are the key to a successful academic path at Lawrence Tech. The results of these assessments will be used by your Academic Advisor to determine the appropriate coursework for your first semester. Once you submit your enrollment deposit, you will receive an email shortly after to view your placement assessment requirements on your student status page. You will find these requirements on the right side of your student status page, along with registration links and study guides. Placement assessments are conducted virtually via Zoom. You will need a computer (desktop or laptop, not cell phone) with a webcam and audio capabilities. You will also need a valid photo ID. Please note, the placement assessments MUST be completed by your advising appointment.
Obtain your I-20
It is very important that you submit the required documents to obtain your I-20. Document types can be found by clicking here. All admissions requirements must be completed and you must be admitted prior to an I-20 being issued. Once we have received all financial documents and the deposit, we will send the I-20 via email along with your acceptance packet.

Advising Appointment
During this appointment you will meet with your advisor, discuss the results of your placement assessments, and register for your first semester coursework. You can RSVP for your advising appointment through your student status page once you submit your $500 enrollment deposit and you have been issued your I-20.
Visa Information

Apply for Housing
If you plan to live on campus, you will need to apply for housing. Begin by submitting an application and a $250 refundable housing deposit on your student status page. Additional information on University Housing is available at ltu.edu/housing

International Welcome Week
To ease your transition into your new life at Lawrence Tech, the Office of International Programs requires that all international students attend a mandatory International Student Welcome Week Orientation one week prior to the start of courses. During International Welcome Week you will learn about required health insurance, maintaining your visa status, and accessing LTU support services.
