Dual Degree: A Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Global Leadership and Management (GLM)
Overview
It is clear that tomorrow’s leaders in business, government, and society must be innovative thinkers who can manage worldwide operations and communicate effectively across cultures. Tomorrow’s leaders must be prepared for the challenges of the 21st Century, including global competition, advanced technology, the motivation of knowledge workers, and turning culture diversity into competitive advantage. Today, more than ever before, employers continue to look for creative, innovative individuals who demonstrate an ability to combine superior knowledge with interpersonal skills needed to lead, manage and inspire a 21st Century workforce.
To address this growing need, the College of management faculty has developed a unique dual degree program, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Global Leadership and Management (GLM), that combines the skill development of a specialty degree in global leadership with a traditional MBA degree. The dual degree program in business administration and global leadership has been designed to prepare managers in global organizations for senior executive positions by broadening and deepening their knowledge of the global economy and the diverse societies that make up today’s world.
Upon completion of the coursework, students enrolled in the dual degree program receive two master degrees, one in global leadership and management (GLM) and the other in business administration (MBA).
Dual Degree Program Design
Lawrence Tech’s dual degree program is distinctively designed to enhance the opportunities for personal and professional growth of tomorrow’s leaders. The dual degree program is designed for business professionals who work or desire to work for global organizations and who are interested in expanding their knowledge while simultaneously discovering the richness of other cultures. Qualified students in the dual degree program will take core coursework in both the traditional MBA program and in the new master program in global leadership and management. Upon completion of the coursework in both programs, a student will be awarded a MBA degree and a Master degree in Global Leadership.
The MBA/GLM dual degree program consists of nine core courses from the MBA program and eight courses from the GLM program, exclusive of any pre-core that may be required for the MBA degree. (Current MBA students and MBA alumni would have their dual/second degree program personally designed.)
