JOB DUTIES: The candidate will teach graduate, and doctorate finance courses with a strong international component in the College of Management in areas related to their academic specializations. The successful individual will also mentor and advise students at all levels, supervise doctoral dissertation research in finance and other student projects, engage in scholarly activity, and provide service to the department, university and community.
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will possess an earned doctorate in finance, economics or business with a concentration in finance, experience teaching finance at the master’s level, and providing service within an academic setting, as well as possess five or more years of work experience in corporate finance, financial services or other business organizations outside of the academic community. Successful candidates should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to organize, plan and implement programming from concept to assessment, as well as the ability to teach and conduct research, mentor and advise students, and perform meaningful service to the department, university, and community at large.
Demonstrated passion for instructing and developing students. Experience teaching doctoral coursework and supervising dissertation research. Ability to teach international economics highly desired. Evidence of excellence in teaching and other scholarly endeavors is particularly valued as is a demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues and others in a collaborative, constructive manner.

JOB DUTIES: A tenure-track assistant/associate professor positions in construction engineering management are available beginning January or August 2009 in the Civil Engineering Department at Lawrence Technological University. Lawrence Tech is strategically located in the largest construction market in Michigan, with opportunities for faculty involvement with major construction projects, firms and organizations. Applicants should have an earned doctorate in construction engineering or a closely related field, and preferably, experience in the construction industry. The department offers state-of-the-art facilities for research in a variety of areas. The department recently received research contracts from the Army Research Laboratory, -DOT, and NSF totaling some $6 million to construct the Center for Innovative Materials Research (CIMR) and conduct research and investigations.
Successful candidates are expected to be enthusiastic and inspired teachers of undergraduate and graduate courses in construction engineering management. Job responsibilities include participation in curriculum development with a focus on the design and management of the construction engineering process, pursuit of applied research and/or industry partnerships to foster the integration of innovative technologies into the curriculum, service to the University, and graduate student advising.

JOB DUTIES: Lawrence Tech’s joint program with the Shanghai University of Engineering Sciences (SUES) is currently looking for adjunct professors to teach courses for undergraduate engineering students in the fields of Mechanical (Automotive) and Electrical Engineering. Faculty should have a MS degree in a related Engineering field with relevant industry experience. These courses are taught in English for a 5 week period at the SUES campus in Shanghai. In addition to generous compensation paid in US dollars, faculty is provided international travel, lodging, and meals.
About the joint LTU-SUES program
The LTU-SUES partnership is a joint engineering program established in 2003 between the Shanghai University of Engineering Science (SUES) and Lawrence Technological University (LTU) located in Southfield, Michigan. This Bachelor of Science program in Automotive Engineering is offered by SUES. Eight courses in this program are delivered in and taught in English by LTU faculty. Chinese students are exposed to at least one American professor teaching a LTU course each semester of this 8-semester program. The remaining courses for this program are taught in Chinese by local faculty from SUES. SUES issues the Bachelor of Science in Automotive Engineering or Electrical Engineering degree.
