VITRC Introduces Wimba Live Classroom

The Veraldi Instructional Technology Resource Center (VITRC) utilizes Wimba Live Classroom, an online synchronous course communication application integrated within Blackboard. It allows faculty and students to build relationships using audio and video live virtual classroom sessions that allow for an online community building and application sharing that enhance traditional best practices of instruction. 

Users can listen to a three-minute demo, sign up for a live demo, and listen to an archived demo on the Wimba site: Wimba Live Classroom.

Wimba Tutorials - Deliver dynamic, on-demand training and support to faculty members, staff, and students. Click on the title to view a video simulations.
 
Wimba Setup   - This tutorial takes you through the initial steps to ensure that you can access audio and visual features using the Wimba wizard.  Tutorial  
Opening Content - This tutorial explains how to upload, access, and display lecture material (e.g. slides, webpages, and desktop applications) for presentation.  
Uploading PowerPoint Files - This tutorial takes you through the steps to load PowerPoint files prior to or during your online class discussion.  Tutorial
Uploading Word Documents  - This tutorial takes you through the steps to load Word documents prior to or during your online class discussion.  
Creating Folders  - This tutorial presents a quick and easy way to organize and access your course material within your Wimba classroom.  Tutorial 
Remote Telephone Access - Students can utilize this option if they experience audio difficulties or do not have access to a microphone.  Tutorial 
How to Add a Branding Picture  - This tutorial explains how to upload a photo or logo within the branding frame that remains visible to students for the entire presentation.  
Creating an Archive  - An archived presentation is a live presentation that has been recorded (e.g. audio and video, public chat comments, content, polling, application sharing, and eBoard annotations.  
Viewing an Archive  - This tutorial takes you through the steps to access an archived presentation and play back all actions as they occurred during the live presentation.
