Mr. John Kushner is a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA). He brings over 20 years' experience into the classroom, ensuring that his students gain real-world knowledge of the foundations of, and innovations in, accounting, finance and related areas. Mr. Kushner presently serves as a CPA and tax analyst for a medium-size metro-Detroit company. He previously served in various finance and technology management positions at Comerica Bank. Mr. Kushner also has over 20 years' experience teaching accounting, economics, finance and CPA exam preparation courses. Before joining Comerica for what became a 20-year tenure, Mr. Kushner spent two years as a financial analyst for a mid-size Chicago company and two years consulting with Accenture, also in the Chicago area. Mr. Kushner also works with firms in the areas of financial consulting, corporate formations and related activities. He is currently building a costing model for new methods of bridge construction.
Mr. Kushner graduated from the University of Michigan with an AB in economics and an MBA with a concentration in finance. He has lived in Michigan for most of his life. He has two children, one attending the University of California Davis School of Law in Sacramento, CA and the other pursuing his undergraduate education while also working full time. Mr. Kushner and his wife married in August 2006 in Thailand.
