Welcome to the Website

Welcome to the official website of the Alternative Energy Student Group. On this website you can find out what the AESG is, get informed about alternative and renewable energy, find out how the AESG is promoting it, get updated on what's new, plan to attend an event, sign up to become a member, or just get ahold of us.

Good to Have You Back

For those of you that are already members of the AESG, we hope to see you all at our first general body meeting. This semester we are working hard to improve our group and our role on campus. Our goal is to be more involved, more visible, more active, and have more members.

This website is the first step in the process of achieving those goals. Be sure to watch this site, as it will be constantly updated with new information. We are already working hard to bring you a new website with more features and greater access to and sharing of information. We are striving to become a premier information resource for all things related to alternative and renewable energy.

Alternative Energy Program

Lawrence Technological University has more opportunities for students to get involved in the future of energy than just the AESG. LTU offers traditional and alternative energy courses. Undergraduate Electrical and Mechanical Engineering students can earn an Alternative Energy Concentration or an Energy Engineering Minor.

What is the AESG?

The Alternative Energy Student Group (AESG) is a group of students from all backgrounds that are dedicated to the understanding, development, and promotion of alternative and renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, biomass, and biofuel. These sources are harnessed with technology such as hydrogen fuel cells, photovoltaic panels, wind turbines, hydroelectric turbines, ethanol, biodeisel, and more.
