General Information
On Sunday, May 18, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., Lawrence Technological University honored its December 2007 and May 2008 graduates and its degree candidates for August 2008 during its Commencement exercises at Cobo Arena, located at 301 Civic Center Drive, Detroit, MI 48202.

Commencement Participation Eligibility
All graduates of December 2008 and May 2009 who have petitioned may participate in the Commencement ceremony. August 2009 degree candidates who have petitioned to graduate by April 15, 2009 will be eligible to puticipate in the May 2009 commencement providing they meet the following criteria:
Undergraduate students: Must have 15 credit hours or less to complete degree
Graduate students: Must have 9 credit hours or less to complete degree

Diplomas
All degree candidates will receive a special scroll at the Commencement ceremony. Diplomas are mailed to students who have completed all requirements approximately 6 weeks after graduation to the address indicated on the petition for graduation.

IMPORTANT REQUIREMENT NOTE: Diplomas will not be mailed if there are any past due financial obligations (library fees, parking, tuition, and housing charges) and/or if the Exit Counseling requirement has not been completed with Financial Aid. Please visit http://www.ltu.edu/registrars_office/graduation_exit.asp for more information about Exit Counseling. The diploma will remain on file in Enrollment Services for 6 months until these requirements are completed. If not met within this time frame, a student will need to complete a Replacement Diploma Request form, paying the additional fee for the diploma.

Academic Attire
Academic attire is required of all graduates and candidates who plan to participate in the Commencement ceremony. Attire may be purchased in the LTU Bookstore located in the Atrium of the Buell Management Building. Be sure to attend the LTU Bookstore Grad Fair (Dates T.B.A.) Please note that academic attire will not be sold at the ceremony.
Honor Cords
Graduates and candidates attending commencement, who meet the requirements for honors, can purchase honor cords in the LTU bookstore until Friday, May 15, 2009 at noon.

Graduation Special Package
Take advantage of a great package and find out why LTU sold more of these than any other Bookstore in the state last year! This is a fantastic opportunity and savings! Please check back in Spring 2009 for more information.

International Students
The Office of the Registrar will provide an invitation letter for graduates whose parents need to apply for a visa in order to attend the Commencement ceremony. The letter can be requested by completing a Verification/Letter Request Form. On the form please indicate the following:

Accommodations for Physically Challenged
Accommodations can be made for graduates who require assistance ascending and descending the stage during the ceremony. Please contact the One Stop Center (C304) at 248.204.2280 or email graduation @ltu.edu by Friday, April 24, 2009.

Guest Seating
Open admission is available for family members and guests to attend commencement. Seating for all guests will be on a "first come, first serve" basis.Tickets for admission is not necessary

"Pushing Honey Through" (PHT) Certificate
A very special certificate entitled "Pushing Honey Through" may be obtained from the Office of the Dean of Students (C405)for friends and family of Lawrence Technological University graduates in honor of their contributions. There is no charge and up to five (5) certificates may be obtained.
Beginning Monday, March 9, 2009 through Friday, May 9, 2009, simply send an e-mail to Joyce Genat at joyce.genat@ltu.edu with the following information:
Two weeks after the information is received, your certificate will be available in the Office of the Dean of Students, located on the upper floor of the A. Alfred Taubman Student Service Center (C405). The office hours are Monday and Tuesday 8:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Please Note: PHT certificates will not be processed after Friday, May 8, 2009.

Photography
Graduation Foto (800.482.0321) photographs all of the graduates. Graduates are mailed a free photo proof and may then order copies of their photographs.

Video
A VHS or DVD of the LTU Commencement ceremony will be available to order through the Office of Alumni Relations. You may contact them at alumni@ltu.edu or 1.800.CALL.LTU x4.
