Degree Audit

What is a Degree Audit?

Coming Soon! In Summer 2008, Lawrence Technological University will offer to students the newest Degree Audit system, (DARWIN). This system is an academic advising tool that maps the student’s degree requirements against the student’s academic transcript. The purpose of the degree audit report is to provide information to assist in academic planning and appropriate course scheduling each semester. The audit indicates the program and graduations requirements that have been completed as well as those areas requiring completion prior to graduation. As a result, degree audit reports are also useful tools at the time of graduation for academic advisors and department chairs.

How do I get a Degree Audit Report?

Degree audit reports are available to currently enrolled students and their academic advisors by accessing BannerWeb. Students with more than one major will have separate reports produced for each program.

Should Students Still Consult Their Advisor?

DEFINITELY! While your Degree Audit report provides you with which requirements to complete, your advisor can provide you with mentoring as well as academic counseling to help you make wise choices on what courses to take and when to take them. Also, many students are required to obtain the ALT PIN from their advisor to register.

If I Am Thinking About Changing My Major, Can A Degree Audit Help?

If you are thinking about changing your major, you can request a "what-if" scenario with the Degree Audit system. Note that the "what-if" scenario will only use the coursework that is posted on your academic transcript. However, it is still best to speak with your academic advisor prior to changing your major.
