Jim Jolly has served as Assistant Provost since July 2014. Jim is responsible for the orientation of new faculty and department chairs, and coordinates services for existing department chairs and directors. He also serves as the university's accreditation liaison officer for the Higher Learning Commission and as liaison to the university assessment and research support service committees.
Before assuming his current responsibilities Jim served as the Director of Lawrence Tech's Leadership Program and taught courses in law and leadership for the College of Management and the College of Arts and Science. He has served on many university committees and has been active in promoting student engagement and development.
Prior to coming to Lawrence Tech, Jim served 4.5 years as the appointed Attorney Magistrate for the State of Michigan's 16th District Court in Livonia, Michigan where he conducted criminal and civil hearings under the court's jurisdiction. He is a licensed attorney and currently serves on the Livonia Bar Association Board of Directors. He is a proud graduate of Western Michigan University and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
