Lawrence Tech Supports Governor Granholm’s “Return to Learn” Initiative

Governor Jennifer M. Granholm, proclaiming November “Return to Learn” month, invites Michigan’s citizens to return to the classroom to finish their higher educations. “If you think you’re too old to go back to school, or if you think your credits have  expired, or that it’s simply too expensive, think again,” Granholm said.  “In our 21st century economy, the greatest asset you can have isn’t just a strong back or the stamina to work extra hours, it’s a single piece of paper—a diploma.”

Founded in 1932 on the grounds of   Henry Ford’s first assembly line, Lawrence Technological University has always been committed to helping working adults obtain a higher education through a unique blend of Theory and Practice. A pioneer in offering flexible schedules, Lawrence Tech still offers students the option of completing their degree programs entirely at night or on the weekends. In addition, the University offers selected programs at a number of convenient locations around the state: Macomb’s University Center, Schoolcraft College, and in Clarkston, the Downriver area, Alpena, Traverse City, and Petoskey.

“Getting . . . people back in the classroom is vital to Michigan’s economic growth and public prosperity, because states with the highest number of college graduates are also the states with the strongest economies and the lowest unemployment rates,” Granholm said. College graduates also generally earn about $1 million more over a lifetime than someone who has only finished high school. If only a few courses or a couple of semesters stand between you and a degree, it makes perfect sense to return to learn.

And returning has never been easier! Check out Lawrence Tech’s programs at our upcoming On-the-Spot Admissions days.
