Lean Training, Certifications, and Consulting
Let's face it, Detroit is the cradle of Lean. From Henry Ford's conveyor belt to more than one hundred years at the center of automotive production leadership, the discipline of process control and operations efficiency is right here. Now a variety of industries such as Manufacturing, Healthcare, Government, and Alternative Energy as well as a number of business functions such as Product Development, Sales, IT, and HR, are looking to apply Lean principles, tools, and methods.
Programs run each month. Training is done on campus, but group training is also performed at client site when requested. Some key facts include:
- Lean is offered at Level I (Basic) and Level II (Advanced) Certification
- Each is approximately 16 hours of intensive contact
- The learner or client organization selects the industry of functional focus desired (e.g., Call Center, Healthcare, Manufacturing, IT, Government)
- Industry or Functional Overview is included in the training
- Certificate of Completion will denote industry or functional specialty selected (as needed)
- Participant or organization may opt for cross-industry, cross-functional, or "generic" view

- Basic Training will include these tools and techniques: (Toyota Production System, Value Steam Mapping, Lead Time Reduction, Error Proofing, Visual Plant, Problem Solving, 7 Wastes, Safety, and 5S)
- Advanced Lean Training will include these tools and techniques: (A3, Hoshin-Kanri, Organization and Process Redesign, Process Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma, Standardization, Business Casing and Gain Capture)
