Delegation from Belarus visits LTU

The Center for Nonprofit Management at Lawrence Tech hosted an exchange session on June 14 with 10 delegates from Belarus on the topic of the U.S. nonprofit sector and its relationships with American government agencies related to delivery of social service programs.

Jamie Maclennan, BSME’13, BSPh’13; and Eric Patrick, BSME’13, have been awarded the 2013 Alumni Association Donley Distinguished Graduate Awards. They were selected for academic performance, extracurricular activities, and leadership qualities.

Lutz praises former GM CEO Wagoner during LTU appearance

Famed auto executive Bob Lutz returned to Lawrence Tech on June 13 to praise former General Motors CEO Rick Wagoner, not to bury him in the criticism that was highlighted in a recent Detroit News review on Lutz’s new book, “Icons and Idiots: Straight Talk on Leadership.”

LTU places sixth in Intelligent Ground Vehicle Challenge

Lawrence Technological University’s robotic vehicle, iWheels, finished sixth in the Auto-Nav Challenge, the main event at the 21th annual Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition held at Oakland University June 7-10. More than 50 teams from around the country and as far away as India and Japan entered the prestigious competition.

Peters, Davis and Dow honored at 81st Commencement

Congressman and U.S. Senate candidate Gary Peters (D-MI) received an honorary doctorate of humanities and gave the commencement address when Lawrence Tech’s 81st Commencement Exercises were held on May 11 at the Ultimate Soccer Arenas in Pontiac.

More Brazilian students to come to LTU for engineering

Lawrence Technological University (LTU) and the Maua Institute of Technology (IMT) in San Paulo, Brazil, have signed an agreement to bring Brazilian students to LTU to study mechanical engineering for a year.
