LTU professor to lead Michigan harbor study

A consortium of government agencies has approved a $175,000 grant for a two-year study on how Michigan communities with small, shallow-draft harbors can plan for economic sustainability in response to the long-term trend of lower water levels in the Great Lakes.

Six athletic teams at Lawrence Technological University have made the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) 2013-14 Scholar Teams list for having an accumulated grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher.

Professor Badih Jawad and Instructor Filza Walters of Lawrence Technological University were named to the College of Fellows of the Engineering Society of Detroit (ESD) at the annual benefit dinner at Detroit’s Cobo Center in June.

Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder visited the Center for Innovative Materials Research (CIMR) at Lawrence Technological University (LTU) on July 16 for a briefing by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) on its progress on building bridges that can last 100 years.

Lawrence Tech donates 50 tablet computers to Vista Maria

Lawrence Technological University (LTU) has donated 50 Fujitsu tablet PCs to Vista Maria of Dearborn Heights, a non-profit providing treatment programs and other services to victimized girls and young women in Southeast Michigan.

Southfield Summer Soulstice brightens up LTU's campus

Nearly 300 participants and dozens of volunteers arrived at Lawrence Technological University (LTU) on the evening of June 21 for the Southfield Summer Soulstice. The 5k/10k run and one-mile walk was a joint venture between the City of Southfield, LTU, and Run as One Productions, LLC. The name represented the soul-embodying elements of healthy lifestyle and outdoor celebration in the community.
