| Sept. 10 Groundbreaking at Lawrence Tech Draws Key Leaders |
| A. Alfred Taubman Student Services Center will be a living laboratory for sustainable design
WHAT: Political brothers Senator Carl and Congressman Sander Levin will don hard hats along with Michigan Attorney General Michael Cox, A. Alfred Taubman and other dignitaries to help Lawrence Technological University break ground for the A. Alfred Taubman Student Services Center, www.ltu.edu/taubmancenter. The ceremony is open to the public. The $9.6 million facility in the center of the 120-acre, private University’s campus in Southfield, is the University’s third new building in four years. With sustainable design features, this “green” building will be a living laboratory for architecture and engineering students. Supported completely by philanthropy, including Taubman’s $4 million lead gift, the Taubman Student Services Center consolidates all student services into a one-stop center. MPC Computers, Edward and Inez Donley, DTE Energy Foundation, Steelcase, ARAMARK, HarleyEllis, Walbridge Aldinger, York International and The Kresge Foundation already have provided major support for the Taubman Student Services Center.
