Current MBA student, Center for Nonprofit Management

Quincy currently is working as a Community Liaison in Detroit, MI in the Osborn Community for the National Community Development Institute.  Quincy manages the day to day operations of Skillman Foundation's new initiative called Good Neighborhood in the Osborn Community.  The goal of the new initiative is to improve the quality of life for kids in six Detroit neighborhoods.  Quincy recently completed the certificate program in Nonprofit Management and is a 2011 MBA candidate.

Quincy has worked for many years in community development including working overseas in Mali, West Africa.   The certificate in Nonprofit Management has given him the skills to fully understand the management issues facing nonprofits today.   Once he completes his master's degree his goal is to become an executive director of a nonprofit organization.

Quincy met Jerry Lindman, director for the Center for Nonprofit Management at Lawrence Technological University, while Dr. Lindman was developing a grant proposal to help train people in the Osborn Community to start their own businesses.  Quincy provided Dr. Lindman and other faculty with information about the Osborn Community.  Dr. Lindman suggested to Quincy that he enroll in Lawrence Tech's Center of Nonprofit Management graduate program as he felt Quincy would make an excellent graduate student given his career goals.  Quincy has had the opportunity to directly apply his work experiences in the classroom.  This program enables students to think outside the box and take on tough challenges.

Quincy is a graduate from Michigan State University with BA in Marketing.   He resides in Detroit, MI.
