The Center for Nonprofit Management
The Center for Nonprofit Management at Lawrence Technological University is designed to build upon individuals' aspirations for careers and service in the nonprofit sector. The Program supports exploration of participants' unique skills and interests and works to prepare them for nonprofit sector placement. In addition to providing the knowledge and tactical skills to act on career aspirations, the Program networks participants to opportunities for collaboration and service in the nonprofit sector.
The Center seeks to engage individuals from all walks of life, business, government, and nonprofit, who have a desire to volunteer or seek employment in the growing nonprofit sector. Our potential customers include nonprofit employees, students and alumni, retirees from business and government, and individuals considering career transition.
The Center for Nonprofit Management brings together the best day-to-day management practices of the private sector, nonprofit organizations, and professional placement firms to support career exploration and transition to nonprofit service. It offers practical support by:
-
Exploring participants' interest in service and careers in the nonprofit sector through assessment and coaching.
-
Developing core nonprofit skills and competencies through workshops and graduate coursework.
-
Networking participants with appropriate nonprofit service and career opportunities.
