M215 Computer Lab FAQ

Who can use the lab?

Only the College of Management students and graduate students from the Computer Science Department are authorized to use the lab. All the other students need to contact their professors to request permission from the lab administrator.

What’s the lab door combination?

Every semester we have a new combination. Your professors will notify you of the new combination in the first class of the semester.

How do I log in?

To log in, press CTRL+ ALT+DELETE simultaneously.  A window will appear asking you for a username, password, and domain.

If you do not need to print, here is the account information:

          Username: student
          Password: room215 (all lower case)
          Domain: GCOM

If you need to print, here is the login info:

Username: XX00000#### (first initial + last initial + your Banner I.D.)
Password:  mmddyy (your birthday by default when you log in for the first time)
Domain:    CAMPUS (please make sure you pick this domain, otherwise you can’t log in.)

How do I print in the lab?

We no longer distribute print cards to the students; instead we will credit your account since you have unique logins. For each Management class you are taking, you will get the credit of 150 printing pages (i.e. if you are taking 2 Management classes, you will get 300 pages). If additional printing is needed, you need to purchase a print card from the campus bookstore ($5.00/100 pages). Present the print card to the lab assistant on duty, s/he will credit your account accordingly.

In your class your professor will ask you to fill in your information on a sheet: your Banner ID, first name, last name and number of Management classes you are taking this semester. We need this information to set up your printing accounts. Please make sure that you submit your information only once in order to avoid redundancy.

What should I do if can’t log in?

Most likely, your password is not working. Please go to C203 to have it reset and try again. If you still can’t log on, please contact the lab assistant on duty.

How can I tell how many pages I have left on my print account?

On the bottom-right corner of the task bar (near the system clock), you will find a printer icon.  Hover the mouse over the printer icon a message will appear with a balance in dollar amount. The cost is 10 cents per page.

Where should I save my work?

We strongly encourage you to save your work on a removable disk. We will not be responsible for any damage or loss of your data.

What do I do if the printer runs out of paper?

Please notify a lab assistant on duty.  If there is no lab assistant available, and no packages of paper are next to the printer, you may contact Campus Safety at 3945 to get paper from the Management Office M331.

When are the lab assistants on duty?

The lab schedule is posted on the cabinet door.

What do I do if the printer indicates “Toner Low?”

Please do not remove the toner cartridge yourself.  Notify a lab assistant for help. If no lab assistant is on duty, please send an e-mail message to wp_bo@ltu.edu. The toner cartridge will be replaced the next business day.

  • which workstation you have been working on
