The Lawrence Technological University Bachelor of Science in Information Technology includes course work in database design, systems analysis, technical infrastructure, project management, information systems management, telecommunications, and general business. Class sizes are small, courses meet once a week, and you will explore various information technology topics through Lawrence Tech's online collaboration tools and the Internet. As you approach your senior year, you will select a concentration in systems design, infrastructure, or software applications. Concentrations
The Lawrence Tech Bachelor of Science in Information Technology degree includes up to 27 credits of focused electives and 15 credits of general electives, allowing you to customize the degree for your desired career path. While you will design your concentration in one-on-one meetings with your academic advisor, popular concentrations include:
- Communication -- information technology professionals who also are able to clearly communicate complex concepts to laypersons are always in demand. Students who select a concentration in communication can earn a Minor in Technical and Professional Communication
- Computer Science -- high-skill software programming is constantly in demand. Combined with the project management and IT skills you will learn in the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program, a concentration in Computer Science can provide you with an enhanced skill set. A Minor in Computer Science can be earned through this concentration.
- Health IT -- our newest concentration prepares you for a career in the fast-growing healthcare industry. The health IT management certificate includes graduate-level courses, allowing qualified students to embark on their journey toward a Master's degree.
