Lawrence Tech Seeks New Dean for College of Management

Lawrence Technological University seeks a talented, entrepreneurial dean for the College of Management who embraces team work, is a skillful change manager, and is able to work with colleagues in a spirit of partnership, transparency and fiscal responsibility:

  • To advance the mission of the college and the university with an emphasis on teaching learning and applied research
  • To develop a vision for the college and the strategic steps necessary to achieve that vision.
  • To skillfully manage faculty and staff charged with the responsibility of implementing the College’s strategic plan by embracing a team environment.
  • To build partnerships and alliances within the University, and with business leaders and professionals and other constituencies throughout the community.
  • And to advance the College’s candidacy for AACSB accreditation by leading accreditation efforts now underway

LAWRENCE TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY:  www.ltu.edu offers more than 100 undergraduate, master’s and doctoral degree programs in the Colleges of Architecture and Design, Arts and Sciences, Engineering, and Management. Founded in 1932, the 4,500-student, private university pioneered evening classes and today has a growing number of weekend and online programs. Lawrence Tech’s 102-acre campus is in Southfield, and programs are also offered in Detroit, Lansing, Petoskey, Traverse City and Toronto. Lawrence Tech also partners with universities in Mexico, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Lawrence Tech is fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges.  Founded as a separate school in 1939, the College of Management provides undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs to over 700 students in daytime, evening, weekend, and online formats

QUALIFICATIONS:  The successful candidate will possess a terminal degree in his or her field and demonstrate accomplishments that support appointment as a tenure-track professor in the College. Essential to the position are proven skills in vision, creativity, leadership, scholarship, enrollment management, faculty development, fund-raising, and community engagement. The successful candidate must demonstrate a progressive history of accomplishment in an AACSB accredited college of business or management, including accomplishments in the areas of academic quality, accreditation, faculty development, sponsored research, and fund-raising. Essential to this position are creativity, leadership skills, the ability to foster new approaches to working with the corporate community, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
