Center for Global Leadership and Understanding

The Center for Global Leadership and Understanding at Lawrence Technological University was established for the purpose of preparing leaders for global challenges in the 21^st Century.   In studying global leadership, the Center creates opportunities for research and scholarship that would identify best practices to be incorporated into training leaders to be effective thinkers. 

We seek to create a community of like-minded individuals that desire to understand the human condition beyond our national boundaries.   It is through cultural exchanges that provide the opportunity to begin to understand the values and norms that make us who we are and appreciate others.  When we understand others, it increases the chances for effective communication. 

The Center’s priority mission is to serve as the source for global leadership studies and cultural understanding.   It seeks to do the following:

• Support research and scholarship opportunities for faculty and students
• Establish collaborative alliances with global organizations
• Sponsor seminars, conferences, symposia and workshops on global culture and awareness
• Organize international study travel events for COM students
