Introduction
LTU Online was established in March 2006 to provide institutional leadership for the development and delivery of asynchronous online degree and certificate programs. The long-term strategic plan for LTU Online was documented in the Institutional Change Request submitted to the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The full text of the change request is available here.
LTU Online made significant progress toward accomplishing its objectives during the 2006-2007 academic year. Over 40 fully online classes have been developed and Fall 2007 enrollment will total over 300 students. The online MBA degree program was fully developed, and significant progress was made to deploy the BSIT completion program. The online Architecture Management and Project Management graduate certificate programs are fully developed, and significant progress was made toward deploying the Nonprofit Management graduate certificate program. Work continues to develop and deploy the Master of Engineering Management program.
In addition to the initial six degree and certificate programs, academic departments have identified a number of other degree and certificate programs for future development. Work has begun on several of these initiatives, including two master’s degree programs in the College of Architecture and Design, a master’s degree program in the College of Arts & Sciences, and a second master’s degree program in the College of Engineering.
This document represents a forward-looking operational plan for the 2007-2008 fiscal/academic year, and is built from the framework established by the Institutional Change Request, on development work in progress, and on the contents of the new Lawrence Tech Strategic Plan.
