Community Volunteer Opportunities

The following is a list of various events hosted or coordinated by community partner organizations. Please note the events listed here are compiled from various organization materials and may change without notice.  It is important to check with each organization to find out more information by visiting the links below each event before planning to attend.

Ongoing Opportunities

Vista Maria
Help is needed to create an after school program which will start in January with a pilot program of possibly 4 or 5 topics. Surveys of the girls favorite topics include Media Skills, Cooking, Social Media, Fitness, Poetry, Creative Writing, Theater, Cheerleading, Dancing, Sports, Music, Film Club, Digital Graphics and more. Help is needed teaching the girls media skills even with cooking for example, as we plan to do a cooking show combining two of their top interests!

There is also interest in exposing the girls to STEM  topics (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) to expand their understanding of careers in these fields.

Beyond Basics
Volunteers are needed to be reading buddies at Beyond Basics. Up to 100 reading buddies are needed Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Volunteers are needed to help with binding and creating book covers for stories children have written.
