Founder, Jenesys Group LLC, in Novi. Shah has held several leadership positions as a technology and procurement expert in the automotive industry. In addition to managing an annual budget of $20 million, she also negotiated more than $650 million worth of software contracts with suppliers across the globe. She founded Jenesys Group, an online marketing and Internet solutions company that provides business process and technology consulting (with an emphasis on offshore management), online marketing campaigns, and web technology services. Jenesys Group is certified as a Woman Business Enterprise. Shah recently created and launched the Michigan India Chamber of Commerce (www.miicc.com) and is an Internet radio host of her talk show, Round Table India. She is a board member of the National Women in Business Organization, Greater Detroit Chapter (www.nawbogdc.org) and of Screentime Awareness (www.screentime.org), an organization devoted to developing activities for youth that exclude television and other technologies that contribute to sedentary lifestyles. She received her MBA with a major in information technology from Lawrence Technological University and her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Mumbai.

MOST INFLUENTIAL PERSONS: "My husband, Nilefh Shah, and one of my ex-bosses, Ken Roesler. My husband is always supporting and motivating me to do something more than the bare minimum. In Indian culture, most women are not taking risks, making decisions, and creating change, and my husband helped with his personality and his belief that I can do anything I want to do. With my dad, there were three girls, and he taught us to never accept what’s given to you, to go out and find more. Ken refined and honed my skills, teaching me how to smooth out the rough edges, and really make an impact."

LAST BOOK READ: "I read a new book every day, mostly fiction. I recently read Easy Prey by John Sanford."

WHERE MY FIELD/INDUSTRY IS HEADED: "My field is really technology-focused, although a small piece of that is marketing. Everyone knows technology is getting more and more complex. There’s so much out there. People are struggling with simple things – people are technology challenged and are looking for a better Website or a marketing plan or consultation with technology development. My company is looking to use some of that technology to create other niche offerings in the marketplace to help a certain audience or industry. The biggest advances will come from technology consulting. There are increasing challenges with offshore work, a lack of steps with technology professionals in certain areas with complex technology, and the need to look at solutions from a technology perspective instead of a business perspective. We look at them from both perspectives."

FAVORITE TECHNOLOGICAL GADGET: "My Treo 650. I love the Treo because it has everything I need to be in touch and connected. It’s like an appendage."
