WHERE BORN: “Denver.”
MOST INFLUENTIAL PERSONS: “My parents were both entrepreneurs. This is how I attribute 'the bug' starting in me. Even when very young, I was always looking for ways to make a buck, like collecting golf balls, cleaning them up, and reselling them. In college I had a very successful business teaching private swim lessons. My wife is my strength, as she is constantly encouraging me to keep going, even when things look bleak and hopeless. But the most influential person is Christ, who is my rock and my foundation. It is He who I try to model my life after and without Him I can do nothing.”
LAST BOOK READ: “The Bourne Legacy by Eric Van Lustbader. I am a huge fan of spy and intrigue novels.”
WORDS THAT DESCRIBE ME: “Husband, father, family man, prolific, Catholic, dedicated, creative, passionate, hard-working, outgoing, funny, caring, open.”
WHERE MY FIELD/INDUSTRY IS HEADED: “Financial literacy is beginning to really take off, with 23 states requiring at least a minimum of personal finance instruction to be incorporated into curriculums. On the software side, there are numerous changes, with a greater focus on portable devices such as tablets and smartphones, which will play significantly into how our product evolves in the near future.”
FAVORITE TECHNOLOGICAL GADGET: “My Android Razr phone. I was the last person I know to get a smartphone and I only did it because I needed it for business. Now I use it for everything.”
FAVORITE PLACE: “Home is truly where my heart is. Michigan has it all and my family loves to travel around the state, especially to Lake Michigan. Our other favorite spot is Florida, with Disney World being a prime destination.”
FAVORITE HOBBIES: “Golf, tennis, and traveling with my family.”
FAVORITE FOOD: “Anything and everything my wife cooks. I have a special hankering for meat cooked on the grill.”
MY HIDDEN TALENT: “I am a par golfer. Nobody knows this, because they have never seen me do this, hence my hidden talent.”
HOW I WANT TO BE REMEMBERED: “As a devoted husband and father and a good friend who can be counted on. Also, as someone who was generous with both his time and talents and made a positive difference during life.”
