McKervey is a business advisor in the international business community and has led Clayton & McKervey's international business practice for the past 15 years. Instrumental in the firm's focus on international business, McKervey has paved the way for its leadership and active involvement in a number of organizations that support clients' business interests. Under his leadership, the company made several hires last year to support its international and automotive business growth. In 2012, Clayton & McKervey was recognized as a Detroit Free Press Top 100 Workplaces and as one of Metro Detroit's Best and Brightest Companies to Work For. McKervey is past chairman of the international business development committee of PKF International Ltd., a worldwide network of independent accounting firms providing global advisory services. He also heads the international committee of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and is a director of the Detroit Chamber of Commerce. He received his bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Michigan–Dearborn and was named its College of Business Alumnus of the Year.

WHERE MY FIELD/INDUSTRY IS HEADED: “The business of public accounting is becoming much more globally influenced. No longer must a company be concerned about tax reporting rules in just one country. Even the smallest are taking advantage of the global market, and as a result their accounting firms are being challenged by having a global mindset.”

FAVORITE TECHNOLOGICAL GADGET: “Game cameras for hunting, a motion-sensored camera that you put into the woods so you have an idea of where the animals are traveling.”

FAVORITE PLACE: “On my deck at my home in Cadillac as the sun is setting in the evening.”

FAVORITE HOBBIES: “Hunting and fishing.”

FAVORITE FOOD: “My wife makes an awesome chicken pie – best crust in the world.”
