Co-founder and CEO of WorkForce Software in Livonia. Choksi is responsible for product strategy and setting the strategic direction for WorkForce Software. With more than 15 years of experience in the workforce management field, Choksi frequently speaks to such groups as the American Payroll Association and the Red Herring 100 conference on a wide range of topics spanning best practices, emerging trends, and the use of enterprise technology to address strategic goals. WorkForce Software provides workforce management software and services for organizations with complex labor policies and stringent compliance demands, including clients in North America, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia. Customers include the University of California, Pacific Gas & Electric Co., Blizzard Entertainment, Duke Energy, and BBVA Compass. Recently, the company announced it raised $17 million in Series A and mezzanine capital from K1 Capital and Triangle Capital Corp. to expand its global market presence and continue its investments in innovative new capabilities for its clients. WorkForce has been named one of the Top 100 North American companies by Red Herring and has ranked repeatedly on Inc. magazine's Inc. 5,000 and Software magazine's Software 500. Prior to WorkForce, Choksi was product manager at Fastech and development manager for Urban Science Applications. He received his bachelor's degree in computer engineering and his MBA from the University of Michigan.

MOST INFLUENTIAL PERSONS: “My parents. My dad was an entrepreneur from an early age and I got to participate in some of his businesses. I was actually writing software for him while in high school and it got me into the mindset of running your own organization and for learning computers and technology.”

WHERE MY FIELD/INDUSTRY IS HEADED: “The biggest change is customers wanting to deploy software on an international basis. We have a new client that will be using our software in 20 different countries.”

FAVORITE TECHNOLOGICAL GADGET: “My Android phone; I can't live without it. It has everything from email and calendar to music and games all in one spot.”

FAVORITE PLACE: “I love Michigan but I also love San Diego – the weather's beautiful and the environment's great.”

FAVORITE HOBBIES: “One game I love to play face to face or online is Scrabble. I've always been intrigued to find out how your mind can find new words and see patterns.”

FAVORITE FOOD: “Mexican.”

MY HIDDEN TALENT: “I think of myself as a pretty good golfer and most don't think I have time to play but I can do it well.”
