WHERE BORN: "Washington, D.C., but I lived for 35 years in Chicago. We moved to Michigan to be close to my wife's family."

MOST INFLUENTIAL PERSONS: "My brother, Greg. We’ve always been very driven and have the drive to succeed. He’s my older brother and I’ve always looked up to him and seen his success."

LAST BOOK READ: "I don’t really read many books but I do read a lot – Crain's, Time, Fortune, Inc., and a lot of newsletters."

WORDS THAT DESCRIBE ME: "Entrepreneurial, ambitious, a leader, energetic, and inquisitive."

WHERE MY FIELD/INDUSTRY IS HEADED: "We're unique because we’re an Internet company in industrial machinery and manufacturing. We’re going to see a lot of manufacturing going to places like China, India, and Mexico. Companies there and in many other places use our site to buy machinery. We’re still doing very well in the U.S. but manufacturing is international."

FAVORITE TECHNOLOGICAL GADGET: "My digital camera and my digital camcorder."

FAVORITE PLACE: "A tie between Las Vegas – I love going there – and my basement playing with my kids."

FAVORITE HOBBIES: "Spending time with my family, reading, coaching. I coach soccer, t-ball, and basketball. It's really fun and rewarding. And poker is definitely a hobby of mine."

FAVORITE FOOD: "Steak, baked potato, and broccoli."

MY HIDDEN TALENT: "Probably back in the day, I was a really good soccer player and a lot of people don’t know that. I had a lot of records in high school."

HOW I WANT TO BE REMEMBERED: "To be a good husband, friend, father, and boss. Being all those would be great. And to see my employees do well."

At the annual awards reception in May 2015, one Leader & Innovator from the previous 12 months will be selected as the Leader & Innovator of the Year.
