President of McGraw Wentworth, a Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC in Troy. McGraw co-founded McGraw Wentworth, an employee group-benefits firm dedicated to meeting the needs of mid-size organizations. In 16 years, McGraw Wentworth has grown from three employees (including the founders), to an award-winning workplace with more than 70 employees and more than 170 clients. McGraw Wentworth has been recognized for several years as one of The Best Places to Work in Insurance by Business Insurance and as a Metropolitan Detroit 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For. The company appeared on the Inc. 5000 list for six consecutive years, most recently reporting three-year growth of 17 percent on 2011 revenue of $13.7 million. McGraw Wentworth was acquired in December 2012 by Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC, a subsidiary of Marsh, Inc., a leading insurance broker and risk-management advisor. As president, McGraw continues to provide direction and guidance for the locally-focused firm, which now has the added knowledge and expertise of a global consultant. He also has led McGraw Wentworth's cross-functional health care reform workgroup. Prior to establishing McGraw Wentworth, McGraw was a principal of The ABOW Cos. He established its group benefit planning department, became a shareholder, and then CEO. When ABOW was acquired by Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., McGraw served as area president of Gallagher ABOW, Inc. Focusing on health care cost containment, McGraw has been a featured speaker for many associations, including the Michigan Association of CPAs, Steel Service Institute of Detroit, Kellstadtt Management Conference, University of Detroit Mercy, and the National Association of Human Resource Directors. He has been recognized as the Ernst & Young Eastern Michigan Entrepreneur of the Year in financial services for the Central Great Lakes Region. McGraw received his bachelor's in economics from the University of Michigan.

WHERE MY FIELD/INDUSTRY IS HEADED: “Our industry, benefits consulting, is headed toward terrific growth, especially with the complexity with the health care reform act, or 'Obamacare.' It's an extremely complicated statute and program. Employee benefits consulting will grow substantially with the implementation of that act over time, especially the establishment of public exchanges.”
