Jerry Webster
Dr. Jerry Webster currently serves as the Dean of Students at Lawrence Technological University. He received his bachelor of arts degree in business administration with a concentration in human resources from Oliviet College in Michigan. He began his higher education career over 17 years ago at Oliviet College as a residence hall director and housing coordinator. After a two-year stint as a Human Resources Associate at Standard Federal Bank, he returned to higher education when he accepted a position at the University of Toledo (UT) in Ohio, where he spent 10 years working in various positions in university housing. After completing his master’s degree in educational technology and human resources development, Dr. Webster entered the doctoral program in higher education administration at UT.
Toward the end of his doctoral program, Dr. Webster was awarded a fellowship with the distinctive Community College Presidential Fellowship Program, offered jointly by the University of Toledo and five area community colleges in northwest Ohio and southeastern Michigan. This fellowship lead him to his next position as Dean of Student Services at Terra Community College in Fremont, Ohio. In January 2003, he accepted the position of Dean of Students at Lawrence Technological University, where he has continued to be active in various State and regional organizations in higher education.
Dr. Webster’s previous service includes being chair of the task force on professional staff recruitment and a member of the conference host committee for the Great Lakes Association of College and University Housing Officers, serving as a member and conference chair of the Ohio Housing Officer’s organization, serving as a member of the Ohio Council for Student Development, and serving as delegate for the American Association of Community Colleges. He currently serves as member-at-large for the Michigan College Personnel Association (MCPA), the State’s organization for professionals working in student affairs.
