Jamie Hobart

Jamie Hobart is the Director of The Learning Center and First Year Programs at Lawrence Technological University.  She received her Bachelor of Arts in English and Honors from the University of San Diego in 1995.  She received her Masters of Literature from the University of Windsor, Ontario, in 2000.

Ms. Hobart began teaching at Lawrence Technological University as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Humanities, Social Sciences and Communication in 2000.  She filled the role of First Year Student Coordinator from the position’s inception in 2002 to 2005.

Ms. Hobart’s experience includes teaching the writing module for Spring Arbor College’s School of Adult Studies as an adjunct Writing Specialist.  She also taught first year writing courses for the University of Winsor as a graduate teaching assistant.

Previously, Ms. Hobart worked as Account Executive for a public relations firm in downtown Detroit, providing internal communications services to General Motors, such as a communications audit and a comprehensive communications plan.  Prior to that, she was a Commercial Assistant for a tier one automotive exhaust manufacturer, where she was responsible for prototype logistics, inventory control, purchasing, as well as relocating and organizing the sales office into a technical research and development facility.
