George P. Butler III

George P. Butler III is a partner in the Detroit law firm of Dickinson Wright PLLC, where his practice focuses on school and education law but includes complex civil litigation, construction law, commercial and real estate transactions.  He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan; the Detroit Metropolitan, Oakland County, Massachusetts, Federal and American Bar Associations; the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel, Inc.; the National and Michigan Council of School Board Attorneys; and the Michigan Association of School Boards.  Mr. Butler is a frequent lecturer and article writer on school and education law topics.  His firm is general counsel to a number of urban and suburban school districts, colleges, universities and various educational entities and it is listed in the "Red Book" of qualified bond counsel.  A graduate of Drew University, Mr. Butler earned his J.D. degree from the New England School of Law.
