Legal Shield (Pre-Paid Legal Services and Identity Theft Shield)

Lawrence Tech offers Pre-Paid Legal Services (PPLS) and/or Identity Theft Shield (ITS) plans to eligible employees at a special group rate. 
 

Pre-Paid Legal Services (PPLS)

The Legal Shield PPLS plan includes unlimited phone consultations, calls and letters on member's behalf, document and contract review, will and trust preparation (at 25% discount), motor vehicle legal services, trail defense services, IRS audit legal services, and preferred member 25% discount for other legal services.  The plan covers the employee, their spouse and dependent children in all 50 states.  The plan excludes business and employment-related matters.    

  

Identitiy Theft Shield (ITS)

The Legal Shield ITS plan includes credit reports, 24/7 credit monitoring, and credit restoration.  The plan covers the employee and their spouse/domestic partner.

Part-Time Faculty and Staff Benefits

Limitations
Lawrence Tech in its sole discretion may modify, amend, or terminate the benefits provided with respect to any individual receiving benefits, including active employees, retirees, and their dependents. Although the university has elected to provide these benefits this year, no individual has a vested right to any of the benefits provided. Nothing in these materials gives any individual the right to continued benefits beyond the time the university modifies, amends, or terminates the benefit. Anyone seeking or accepting any of the benefits provided will be deemed to have accepted the terms of the benefits programs and the university's right to modify, amend or terminate them.

However, if any provision on the benefits plans is unclear or ambiguous, the Office of Human Resources reserves the right to interpret the plan and resolve the problem.
