LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Residents will acquire, share knowledge of, and recognize the value of cultures, gender, identities, socio-economic status, etc., by living in a diverse community. Residents will participate in one diversity opportunity each year and will increase their knowledge in one area by 25%.
- Residents will explore opportunities for leadership, teambuilding, and individual involvement on campus by participating in at least 2 programs to gain social, academic and personal support each year. To the extent that 80% of the residents will become an active member in at least one campus organization or group.
- Residents will exhibit respect and concern for the community in which they live, through taking responsibility for their actions and holding each other accountable to community standards. This will be accomplished by having 95% of residents participate in the development and implementation of their floor’s community agreement.
- Residents will exhibit a concern for their self and other’s personal safety and University property after participating in the “Safety Matters” program. Infractions of the Student Code of Conduct will be reduced by 25%.
- 85% of first year residents will matriculate to their sophomore year by taking ownership of their educational experience through the utilization of 3 University resources and support services.
- First year residents will acquire fundamental life skills, including effective communication, problem solving, conflict management, and ethical decision making through regular interactions with staff, and participation in at least 3 programmatic efforts throughout the year and will increase their knowledge by 25% within each of these life skills. This will be measured by using the resident’s responses on the resident satisfaction survey.
