Out of State Competition
Win a $1,000-4,000 per year scholarship for four years toward your Lawrence Tech education!
Participating in Lawrence Technological University’s Scholarship Competition for Out-of-State Students is easy:
1. Be an accepted freshman to Lawrence Tech for the Fall 2012 semester. If you haven’t yet applied to Lawrence Tech, do so here: www.ltu.edu/futurestudents/apply.asp
2. Write a 300–500 word response to the following topic and email your essay to scholarship@ltu.edu by February 15, 2012:
Lawrence Tech believes that critical and innovative thinking, leading by example, and serving one’s community are some of the essential qualities of an effective leader. What quality do you think is most important for a leader to have and why? How have you demonstrated this attribute?
The writers of the best essays will be invited to attend the Scholarship Competition for Out-of-State Students on Friday, March 30, 2012, including an overnight stay on campus.
Competition Schedule
| 9 am | Registration and housing check-in |
| 9:30 – 11 am | Welcome and campus tour |
| 11 am – noon | Lunch with faculty |
| 12:15 – 3 pm | Interviews, assessments, and leadership activity |
| 4 – 7 pm | Dinner and activity |

Scholarship winners will be reimbursed up to $500, paid toward their second semester tuition at Lawrence Tech, for travel expenses, such as flights/transportation, with submission of receipts.
