ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- A completed application for admission with the $30 undergraduate or $50 graduate non-refundable fee.
- International transcripts - International students are required to send their international transcripts to WES (World Education Services). WES will evaluate the transcript and give us the US equivalent grades and degrees. A transfer student must have their college/university and high school transcripts evaluated. High school transcripts are not required for graduate students. For more information on WES visit their web site at www.wes.org
- English proficiency or ESL - All international students are required to take the TOEFL or equivalent. We require a min score of 550 on the written test or 213 on the computer-based test. We offer ESL courses at LTU. If a student does not want to take the TOEFL or did not pass the TOEFL, the student has an option to complete ESL courses here. The student should contact the coordinator of the ESL program, Ben Hoffiz at 248-204-2528. Depending on the program, the student may be allowed to take courses toward their degree along with the ESL courses.
- Document of support - International students are required to submit a current bank statement stating they have sufficient funds to pay for an entire year of school. If someone is sponsoring you, they need to submit a letter stating they are willing to provide you with financial assistance for your schooling. We will also need a current bank statement from your sponsor.
- Visa Transfer Form – International students transferring from a community college or university need to complete a Visa Transfer Form. Students need to take the form and have their international advisor from their current school fill it out. Students must give the filled out form to the Admissions Office before their date of enrollment. Lawrence Tech needs the Visa Transfer Form to process transfer students I-20’s.
- Foreign Address - International students are required to provide Lawrence Tech with their overseas address. It is a requirement for SEVIS (government tracking system for International students).
- Additional Requirements - Please see academic programs for additional admissions requirements.
Note regarding processing the I-20:
In order to process an I-20, we need to have the following items:
- Student must be accepted
- TOEFL or ESL

Once we receive all the above items your I-20 will take a week to be processed.
