Michigan Tuition Incentive Program (TIP)
Phase I of the Tuition Incentive Program pays $84 per credit hour in the 2011-2012 academic year up to 24 credit hours per academic year and registration fee. TIP benefits cannot exceed 80 semester or 120 term credits.
Lawrence Tech students are required to complete a dual degree form and follow the Associate of Science in General Studies curriculum to fulfill the Phase I requirement
The Associate of Science in general studies is designed for students seeking a high quality two-year liberal arts degree or a stepping stone into a four year program. This program also serves as an ideal dual major component for students needing to establish financial aid eligibility for the Michigan Tuition Incentive Program (TIP).
You will be monitored for successful completion of the associate degree and will be required to petition for graduation. This process will move you into Phase II of the TIP program and the completion of your undergraduate degree.
Phase II provides a maximum of $2,000 total tuition assistance for credits earned in a four-year program. Lawrence Tech will award you $500 per semester for a maximum of four semesters.
Your TIP award will not cover your tuition, fees and other charges in full. We encourage you to complete the FAFSA. By completing the FAFSA you may be eligible for federal grants, student loans and other financial aid.
To maintain your participation in the TIP program you must enroll in at least 6 credit hours per semester and maintain satisfactory academic progress as defined by Lawrence Tech’s policy.
The Office of Enrollment Services is in need of additional documentation to begin the TIP process. Please return all necessary documents to the One Stop Center:
