Students Outside in Winter

Why Lawrence Tech?

Proximity to industry has been a hallmark of Lawrence Tech’s mission since its very beginning in 1932, when it was situated literally next door to where Henry Ford perfected the first moving assembly line. Lawrence Tech’s alumni, faculty, and students have long played a significant role in advancing the nation’s leadership in automated manufacturing. Today, the University is strategically located at the hub of the world’s most concentrated geographic area for automotive design and manufacturing and also is at the heart of Automation Alley, home to cutting-edge robotics companies and diverse research and development opportunities.

All of Lawrence Tech’s graduate engineering faculty have doctoral degrees and are involved in applied research and consulting. In addition to the knowledge and experience the faculty provides, your fellow students, because they already are
working in the field, add to the richness of the program. You will participate with and learn from other professionals who represent a variety of industries, manufacturers, and suppliers.
