mechanical engineering mechatronics laboratory

Mechatronics Lab 1The Research Laboratory of Mechatronic Systems supports courses and research in mechatronic systems engineering with emphasis on conventional and autonomous ground vehicles and robotics in the undergraduate and graduate curriculums.  The laboratory is well equipped with hardware and software from KUKA Robotics, National Instruments, dSPACE, Kistler Instrument, Festo and other companies of the Mechatronics Industry Advisory Board.  University professors and instructors from the industry provide a high level of expertise using the equipment for regular lectures, labs, computer workshops, and in open-end engineering projects. The laboratory provides facilities and equipment for the LTU Student Research Committee “Autonomous Vehicles and Robotic Systems” established with the support of National Instruments and the Great Lakes Chapter of the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International.  Undergraduate and graduate students who are members of the Committee participate in real engineering projects and publish research papers.
