DEMS Internship Arrangements

The internship in industry for the candidate to solve a real problem in the manufacturing facility must be viewed as a cooperative endeavor between LTU, the manufacturing facility, the candidate, faculty advisor and the industrialadvisor from that manufacturing facility.  The manager of that facility must recognize that the candidate’s commitment and progress must be rewarded by insuring that the support to his/her DEMS program will continue until the candidate finishes the DEMS program.

The manufacturing facility must commit the resources required and financial support to the candidate in order that he/she will be able to develop a solution to the manufacturing problem which has been well defined in the Doctor of Engineering proposal.  The manufacturing facility and LTU must have a written understanding of the internship arrangements in order to ensure the achievement of the DEMS proposal.
