Program Requirements

The Master of Engineering in Manufacturing Systems is a cross-disciplinary program that requires 32 credit hours of course work. Eight core courses (24 credit hours) are required:

  • Engineering Economics
  • Engineering Management
  • Engineering Materials
  • Engineering Systems Simulation
  • Manufacturing Processes
  • Manufacturing Productivity
  • Manufacturing Systems
  • Quality Control

 

Two elective courses (six credit hours) are required and may be selected from the following:

  • Design for Reliability
  • Fasteners and Bolted Joints
  • Manufacturing Systems Simulation
  • Optimization of Manufacturing Systems
  • Polymer Materials and Processes
  • Production Planning and Control
  • Technology Management

 

Students also may elect engineering courses from other Lawrence Tech master’s programs. In addition to the core and elective course work, students must take the one-credit-hour Professional Seminar twice.
