Professor Joe Oranchak
Joseph R. Oranchak, P.E. has a BSEE in Electrical Engineering from Newark College of Engineering (now N.J. Institute of Technology) in Newark N.J. and a MS in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. He has over 40 years of experience in electrical power and control systems for power plants, heavy industry (steel, refineries), education (K through 12, community college and college/university), health care and business/commercial fields. A licensed Professional Engineer in six (6) states, Prof. Oranchak has significant project experience including Los Angeles Regional Crime Lab, Beaumont Hospital Central Tower Renovation, Ford Rouge Visitors Center, three science buildings at Chaffey Community College (CA), Connection Building for Domino’s Farms, DTE Fermi Training Center, and the Carhartt Corporate Headquarters. In addition, he was involved in the Installation Engineering for the Inoventions Building at Disneyland, Electrical Study for “Kongfrontation” ride at Universal Studios Orlando (FL), Batching Control System for Anchor Glass plant and designed the baseball field lighting at Eastern Michigan University (EMU). Personal interests include amateur radio, history of engineering and lighting. Mr. Ornanchak is a member of Toastmasters and the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) where he serves as Treasurer of the Detroit Section Chapter.
