Associate Dean

Lewis G. Frasch is the Associate Dean of the College of Engineering.  He joined the mechanical engineering faculty in 1984 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 1990.  Dean Frasch has taught courses in Statics, Engineering Cost Analysis, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Thermal-Fluid System Design, and Capstone Design.  He has published and presented papers primarily discussing engineering design instruction.

Dean Frasch received his BSME degree from Ohio State University and MSME degree from Iowa State University.  He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Ohio and Michigan.  Before joining Lawrence Tech, Dean Frasch served as a nuclear-trained, commissioned officer in the US Navy’s submarine program.   He received a personal citation from the Commander-in-Chief, Pacific Fleet, and the Navy Expeditionary Medal.  Afterwards, Dean Frasch joined Alden E. Stilson and Associates as a mechanical engineer. He was in charge of the design of various power plant systems including power station high pressure steam piping.
