Biography

Nabih Jaber received his B.A.Sc, M.A.Sc and PhD degrees all in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Windsor in 2006, 2009 and 2012 respectively. From January 2012 to June 2012, he held a Research Fellow position at Wireless Communications and Information Processing (WiCIP) Lab, where he also held the position of Lab Manager.  He has many years of hands on experience in his research area topic and he always strives to give back to society.  In addition to designing wireless systems' protocols and prototypes, some of he’s main contributions include sharing his ideas via journal papers, conferences and teaching. He’s research interest include, but not limited to, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), wireless communications, coding and information theory, Dedicated Short Range Communications (DSRC) vehicular systems, smart grid power line communications, and sensor networks.  He is also very much interested in test-bed implementations, and innovative simulation system designs.  During the Summer of 2012, he served as an Adjunct Professor at Lawrence Technological University (LTU), where he currently holds an Assistant Professor position.  He held several Faculty Instructor positions in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Windsor since 2010. He constantly participates in the teaching community.  Some examples include the following: obtaining the University Teaching Certification (UTC) by SEDA for promoting innovation and good practice in higher education, Leading Effective Discussions, Instructional Skills, Teaching Dossier and Millennial Student: Myths and Realities certificates.  Another example would be his contribution to the GATAcademy workshops that the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) department at the University of Windsor held annually.
